Job SummaryThe Disassembly Mechanic supports the teardown, inspection preparation, and processing of aircraft components within the disassembly department. This is an entry-level, hands-on position focused on mechanical work, part handling, and supporting certified mechanics and inspectors in a fast-paced aviation maintenance environment.
This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience using tools, whether gained professionally, through technical training, or personal projects and hobbies.
Position Responsibilities• Disassemble aircraft components and subassemblies using hand tools and shop equipment
• Clean, organize, and prepare parts for inspection and further processing
• Identify visible wear, damage, or discrepancies and escalate findings to mechanics or inspectors
• Support A&P mechanics and inspectors with basic mechanical and shop-related tasks
• Accurately track work performed and maintain basic production documentation
• Properly tag, handle, and store components throughout the teardown process
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company safety and 5S standards
• Follow all company quality procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements
Minimum Requirements• High school diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through work experience, technical training, hobbies, or personal projects
• Ability to safely use basic hand tools; must possess own basic SAE tools (see tool list)
• Strong attention to detail, work ethic, and reliability
• Regular and predictable attendance required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active environment, including standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motion
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to learn and safely operate shop equipment and machinery
• Ability to comply with the Company’s DOT Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program
Preferred Qualifications• Prior experience in manufacturing, mechanical, aviation, or maintenance environments
• Technical school, trade school, or vocational training background
• Familiarity with aviation tools, hardware, or mechanical assemblies
Hiring Pay Range: $24.00- $35.00 hourly
