Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance
Design and validate ruggedized electronic and mechanical packaging solutions for advanced undersea defense systems, supporting product development through structural, thermal, shock, vibration, and manufacturability analysis in a collaborative engineering environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electronic and mechanical packaging solutions for undersea mission systems
- Perform static and dynamic analysis, including structural, thermal, shock, and vibration analysis
- Create, review, and maintain engineering documentation including procedures, specifications, drawings, design packages, and engineering reports
- Develop 3D models, assemblies, layouts, and detailed mechanical drawings using CAD tools such as Creo
- Support design validation, prototype integration, and manufacturing readiness activities
- Conduct structural analysis using Ansys and support dynamic simulation activities using Matlab/Simulink
- Ensure designs comply with applicable technical, government, and industry standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, electrical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering efficiency, innovation, and design processes, including the application of AI tools where appropriate
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline plus 2+ years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree plus 6+ months of relevant experience
- Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable period after hire
- Experience with CAD modeling and mechanical drawing development using tools such as Creo
- Experience creating and maintaining engineering documentation, specifications, and technical reports
- Structural analysis experience using Ansys
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink for dynamic simulation and analysis
- Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods
- Familiarity with technical, government, and industry engineering standards
- Ability to support collaborative product development in a fast-paced engineering environment
- Flexibility to support evolving design and development priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting defense, aerospace, naval, or undersea systems programs
- Experience with electronic packaging design and ruggedized hardware development
- Experience supporting prototype builds, testing, and product validation activities
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) principles
- Experience supporting shock, vibration, and environmental qualification testing
