Aviation Engineering Technician I (Temp Summer Hire)

Job Description
The Aviation Solutions Division provides direct project support for programs and platforms at Patuxent River Air Base and Webster Field Base in Southern Maryland. System aircraft design and development tasking drives projects for equipment removal and replacement, complex cable harness fabrication, aircraft installation efforts, and lab testing development integration. The Division Program Manager is currently searching for qualified and experienced candidates to join the Aviation Solution team to expand capabilities and provide operational excellence to the both the customer and war fighter.

The program is currently searching for a qualified Engineering Intern to join the operational team for the summer. Period of performance is late May-early August The selected candidate will assist teams modify, fabricate and build equipment subassemblies working from layout diagrams, schematics, wire prints, and verbal instructions. The technician will support installs, inspections, testing, adjustments, and avionic integration.

Integration efforts will be performed within full-scale production manufacturing operations and include tasks such as production fabrication for electronic, mechanical, electromechanical assemblies. Additional tasking capabilities will include quality assurance and reliability testing, having the ability to follow established methods and procedures, and effective time management for production scheduling and control.

This position is located in the scenic and historic Southern Maryland area of St. Marys County, near to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Marys County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Job Requirements:

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High school diploma
Some knowledge of or prior experience with DoD programs

Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
